Three seniors at Salem High School signed a letter to play athletics while attending college next fall. MaKollie Koelling signed with Williams Baptist College to be a cheerleader next fall. Cory Arnold signed with Arkansas Tech to play football next year. Wes Griggs signed a letter to play football for Louisiana College.

Senior track members will compete in the state track meet today at Mineral Springs.
The senior high shooting team won the Independence County Shoot on April 28. The team members are Kullins Koelling, Hunter Saunders, Cody Gault, Layton York, and Blaine Overman. The team will shoot at regional on May 5.

Salem High School seniors and Viola High School seniors were fortunate enough to be a part of the Ready-Set-Graduate program on April 26, in the Salem High School gym. Malina Coffman along with many community members prepared a practical budgeting experience. Students chose a career and salary, then prepared a budget, and finally saw the difference in what they had left at the end of the month. Many seniors said that it was an eye opening experience. A very special thanks to the following for making Ready-Set-Graduate a huge success: Malinda Coffman, Mary Sanders, Lucinda Bishop, Marylynn Sikes, Mike Falco, Mike Hickman, Amber Runsick, Carla Emerson, S and S Homes, Farm Bureau, Bank of Salem, Humphries Insurance, Hills Auto Sales, and everyone that helped with the Ready-Set-Graduate program.
